Driving an RS4 slowly and smoothly

Thank you all for the further replies with hints, tips and opinions.

It sounds rather obvious, the Sport button option - I never drive the car without Sport engaged and traction control switched off completely (to non blinky light stage ).
so, I'll give that a go first.

I'll also attempt the other suggestions where possible and let you all know how I get on - mind you I'll be without my car for a couple of days while she undergoes headlight replacement & front brake upgrade, along with a general check over after the all the snow

Wasn't SW0090 suppose to map out 'kangarooing'?

Is the car mapped?

I have SW0090 + Standard map and it still does it.

Ah, that's probably it then! I used to drive all the time with Sport mode on. Like i mentioned earleir there is a slight difference with jerkiness. But when sitting in traffic you've nothing to gain with sport mode on other than the sound from the exhaust. Just disconnect the valves and you won;t need to be in Sport mode all the time and your exhaust will sound better as the valve wont only be open at certain revs. Win - Win!

it's barely perceptible to me in my car! In the E46 M3 if you drove on a constant throttle and pressed sport mode you could immediately feel the throttle map change.

I didn't think the difference was a lot. A bit jerkier was about all I could feel. The MRC remap makes it feel like a different car! The difference now between sport and non sport mode is massive, there's no doubt which mode yoh are in!

Its a bit smarter than that (well, appears to be). It definately doesn't just swap maps - a couple of times I've had to come off the throttle for it to pick up the new map.
But saying that... I've had it almost shoot off and spear the car in front when I've pressed it.
It does seem to depend on where you are with the throttle pedal when you press it.

I always wondered this haha, scared the life out of me the first time it happened. Only happens to me if i don't warm the car up long enough before driving it

I'm a bit late on this one but mine is the same, very, very hard to drive smoothly slowly. Going for it I've never driven anything that's so easy to drive fast. I think is like getting a roided up race horse to walk, there's gonna be a lot of snorting and complaining going on coz the car/horse just wants to run!
