The RS4 is not really luxurious enough to be a "pimp mobile", a CLS with bitchin' Giovannas for example, neither is it a sports car like a 997, neither is it practical as a XC90, neither is it a decent off roader like a Landy, if there is real snow on the ground, Canada style, no quattro will save it. It really is only good for people who want to drive very fast in the rain for some reason.
Pimp mobile?!?? The RS4 is luxurious enough and better made than any recent Merc I've seen...not to mention more reliable. It is hugely practical, especially in avant form. It never tried to be an off-roader so that comparison isn't really valid. As far as snow, quattro helps hugely but it is the tyres that will make the biggest difference.
I've previously owned a modified Noble M400 which outperforms all the cars on your list on road and track (even in standard form). I wouldn't class myself as "one of those people who only like driving fast in the wet" as you say above. I love driving on dry and wet roads no matter what car I'm driving (2WD or 4WD). I could push the M400 in different ways to what I can with the RS4 but that doesn't mean driving the RS4 is any less rewarding. If you find it so, I suspect that you have not pushed the car anywhere near its limits...which is hardly a fault of the car.
I'm beginning to wonder whether or not you actually have an RS4. If you do, it would seem you are thoroughly unimpressed by it, but I suspect it may be something to do with your car alone, hence I would:
1. Take it back to the dealer to ensure all is well with it.
2. Try and drive someone else's RS4 to ensure you haven't bought a "dud"...which is what appears to have happened.
3. Invest in a car control/handling day to discover what you can actually do with a car like this.
