Problems engaging gears.

Post by BenHol » Sat Jun 30, 2018 10:05 pm

Well today I seem to have developed a potential clutch problem I think. Going into all gears is difficult and actually grinds occasionally going between gears. The only confusing bit is there’s not clutch slip. On the odd occasion recently I have experience the clutch pedal sticking down. But not regularly.
Any thoughts on a diagnosis would be appreciated.

Might be a good idea to get robnic's uprated clutch pipe fitted while you're at it - see viewtopic.php?t=118361

Had the same problem with mine, especially when the engine was hot, ended up changing the lot, clutch, cylinders and did the upgrade pipe at the same time, costly but drives like a new car now!

Clutch pedal sticking down - I had this after enthusiastic driving and changed many things. Clutch fluid with a higher boiling point was all it needed. Do this before you do anything more drastic, as it costs peanuts in comparison. evo highlighted a similar issue with the hotter Focuses, and it's clearly an RS4 issue too.

It does sound like you have other issues as well, though.
