Front springs to match SS+ rears

I'm confused what it is you're after, sorry if I'm stupid. I have a set of SS+ springs at home that you can have for cheap if that's what you're after?

Did Audi release 3 different options for springs on the b7? I though it was only 2, SS & not and SS+ was the same as SS.

You're right, two options, Sports Suspension and Sports Suspension plus, the latter having stiffer springs, lower at the rear, (think the front is the same as SS) and thicker ARB, front, rear or both, can't remember.

In a nutshell:

Why would you only change the fronts? The spring rates are usually different on aftermarket stuff, so aren't you just messing with the balance? Can't imagine handling is going to be optimised. Just replace all four like most people do.

I fitted H&R front springs and left the SS+ rear and the handling is perfect, Nurburgring included, it has hardly changed at all from stock maybe a tiny bit less understeer thanks to the lowering which gives a tad more negative camber.

I reckon spring rates are pretty close, and definitely not a concern.

Is your car a saloon, Avant or convertible, do you know if the fronts springs are the same part irrespective of body style?

Mine has SS+ on the rear and H&R on the front and it balances out perfectly with the factory DRC . I had the 4 wheel geometry done after install and have tested it on a track and general day to day driving without any problem at all. I will take a picture tomorrow. I had the same issue as you, I hated the way it sat with the SS+ which just looked so exaggerated on the avants. Mine are on the 20" S5 alloys. I had to buy a set of 4 H&R springs and donated the rears to someone on the forum that needed them.

Know what you mean with it being exaggerated on Avants plus I'll be eventually going down the 20" S5 wheel route too which would make the front look like it was on stilts!

Not the greatest angle on my picture on the link above but it gives you a good idea how it sits with the SS+ on rear and H&R on the front. I had the same set up on the OEM 19" wheels and it sat perfectly as well. I really like the 20" S5 wheels as they really fill the arches well and with the unlucky incidents with the car being broken into a couple of times any aftermarket alloys I dont think will last long on the car so this is a great compromise for me...even though there are many I would jump at if I had more secure parking
