Tpms.....are these the right ones ?
Re: Tpms.....are these the right ones ?
I don't think it does, it just reads back 4 pressures and if one of them drops below a certain limit it flags up the alarm in the DIS.
Each one will have a different address but the system does not know on what corner of the car an individual sensor is fitted.

VCDS just tells you wheel 1, 2, 3 & 4 IIRC - there's no way for it to tell which sender is on which wheel (that I know of...).WillRS wrote:how does it identify which wheel is which out of interest?

Re: Tpms.....are these the right ones ?
Plugged in at the weekend & found these 2 fault codes in the TPMS module, anyone seen these before or can decipher?
Cheers, Dave.

Re: Tpms.....are these the right ones ?
Looks like your aerial has failed as it is showing a fault code for that (01833) and you are getting no data back from any of the sensors in the wheels.
The aerial is located behind the plastic mesh next to the drivers side exhaust http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=89015
Try cleaning the electrical connections on the unit and the connector plug first and if that does not work you will probably need a new aerial.
Less than £100 from Audi. Where are you based? Maybe try swapping the aerial over with another forum member?

Re: Tpms.....are these the right ones ?
update - found the module behind the rear mesh (thanks for the tip), disconnected & retried VCDS. Same error with or without the module connected so I assume its dead. Cleaned connector & checked wiring, seems ok.
switched off TPMS so I don't get the error every time I start the car, will order replacement on Monday & update after fitting.
cheers

Re: Tpms.....are these the right ones ?
I am pretty sure my old aerial still works if you want to give that a try? I fitted a new one with no success so in my case I think the control module is broken but will hopefully find out more tomorrow.

Re: Tpms.....are these the right ones ?
it would be handy to try one without buying new just in case the problem is something else, i'm in the Aberdeen area, where are you?
cheers.

Re: Tpms.....are these the right ones ?
Quick thread reserection!!
I've posted on C6 forum but it's busier over here and I need a quick answer.
It says on my new sensors...(bought the ones for eBay on this thread)...tighten to 4nm?
Does this mean the valve into the sensor OR the metal "sleeve" on the valve itself?
New wheels are on tomorrow and just need to let wheel refurb mam know?
Thanks
Chris
