Looking for a piece of advice on how to buy a decent RS4 Ava

Post by Myrcin » Sun Aug 19, 2012 8:01 pm

Hi,
I'm considering buying RS4 Avant but I have been in the UK for 1.5 year only and this would be my first UK car.
May I ask you for a piece of advice on how to buy a decent, used RS4 on the UK market? I'm particularly interested in RS4 Avant B7 as this seems to be the one I can afford.
Any information on what should I do before buying, including paperwork and health check would be appreciated. I hope you don't mind this general question but it is hard to be more precise when you start from scratch.
Many thanks!

I would get an insurance quote first, i don't know what age you are but if you don't have any no claims history you may get a shock at what you will be quoted.
Mint Optic Pack saloon in Daytona Grey (Now sold)
B7 RS4 in Sprint Blue (Gone to a very good new home)
Evo V1 (wish i'd kept)
Numerous M3s

I'm 33 and I'm aware that insurance may be really expensive. I'm kind of prepared for this as insurance for my EVO is not cheap at all.

V5 document is basically the cars logbook... So it will have info with regards to vehice such as colour, chasis number, weight as well as no of previous keepers and current keeper...

The hpi is a check which tell you if the car has been in an accident ever and subject to a total loss by unsurers, if the car has had any finance or colour changes etc
