Just ordered a cable from Ross-Tech, should be with me next week.

What are the essentials to do first and any other tips.

Enabling window open/close on remote press (can also close sunroof on remote but not open it).
Enabling rear lights on when DRLs on.
Changing pitch and volume of parking aid so that difference in pitch between front and rear warnings is more obvious.

Disabling the "press clutch to start" message in the DIS, so you can go through computer data with ignition on but without need to fire up the engine

And opening and closing the RNSe screen at the click of a mouse - completely pointless but just makes me smile! (yes, I probably should get out more....)

I can't remember exactly where it is - I stumbled across it whilst tinkering - pretty sure it's tucked away somewhere in the adaptation channels, possibly in the instruments module. I'll plug in tmrw and see if I can remember. Very handy tweak IMO.

I've just checked - it's in the coding of Module 17 - Instrument Cluster (J285)

Remove 16 from the 3rd & 4th digits and the "press clutch pedal to start engine" nanny reminder will vanish and you'll get the normal DIS display when the engine's off. In the coding guidance it's described as "+16 = clutch pedal switch operation in FIS display".

As standard the coding in mine was 0023418, so I changed it to 0007418, job done.

And while I was in module 17, I ran the output test again, just so I could watch the needle sweep - I soooo wish it could be made to do that on start up!!

Enable the rather subtle alarm blip when you lock the car

Liking the drl's rear lights idea, handy for dull wet day in Scotland.
