For sure you can handle 550 cc injectors with the stock ECU. If you want bigger ones you have to change to aftermarket EMS. For up to 550 cc it's proven in an S3 and Seat Leon ~ 500 hp..and as for the chipped cars the next move is the enhanced clutch for sure.
Regards,
George.
Just had a chat with my tuner about the s3 and there becoming revo dealers,so i might see what they can achieve with this first.Injectors-v.small as i suspected and will need replacing to 440 if going to 300+ bhp. These may have to be controlled by a standalone but he's not totally sure.
The compressor map shows theoretical safe power output of 230bhp although revo claim a max of 280bhp.The k04 turbo isn't the strongest unit and he recommends a ihi unit with a decent cast manifold for 330-370hp.He reckons 260-280bhp if your lucky with the revo, although this is a max figure due to the stock manifold which is a restriction. The clutches can be a bit marginal in terms of what they can take, even with a chip upgrade. It seems the options for
this car are either a Helix clutch, or a hybrid using a VR6 pressure plate.Anyone had problems with their clutch after a chip upgrade?upgrades? The engine is strong with mahle pistons and can run 1.35bar no problem.
more updates soon,regards Ryan

Which clutchs are tried and tested with big power on the s3?I am put off from getting the helix because i had one in my last car as i was making in excess of 280bhp(240 at the wheels) and it was basically all or nothing and was very harsh although effective.Who has a mtm clutch?Does it keep the stock feel?Any others?I don't think my car has had the clutch changed since new and it's done 40k so it must be nearly time for a change.Did you say you have revo fitted ben? What are your thoughts?Aro,how is it possible to swap injectors without some sort of management?regards Ryan

Mick has an MTM clutch for sure. Simon Elman runs a paddle clutch and a lightened flywheel so he can help on that front. VST no doubt has some kind of upgrade as well
Revo was good. I got a nice curve on the rollers at AmD with 260/290. The car was running brilliantly when I sold it.

Cheers

Ben

Chelsea Mick and S3mon are running the MTM clutch. I have driven S3mons car and I would say it is pretty much close to stock feel. One of these guys should be able to comment better.

Thanks for the comments guys.It was a helix 4 paddle clutch i had in my previous car and it was v harsh. That mtm one sounds pricey for what it is.Sounds like i need to budget for this aswell as my chip upgrade.regards Ryan

I'm not running the 550 cc injectors, but my cousin who is also an Audi - VW tuner did several upgrades with them in S3 and Leon cars. Of course you have to reprogram the stock ECU in order to make the 550 cc work. As i explained the 550 cc are the top ones you can work with the stock ECU even if reprogrammed.
