It's the Ester base that's the magic ingredient in Fuchs.

I'm having my engine, gearbox and rear diff oils done this week. Along with brake fluid and fitting my sump guard. Be interesting to see the difference the fresh gear oils make

Having mine serviced on Friday, got the Fuchs oil on it's way to the garage already :thumb:

The gearbox fluid change was very noticeable on mine but it's still notchy as hell so I'm gonna pick up the JHM short-shifter soon.

2 things, Audi longlife isn't ester-based. It's stopped now ;)

The gearbox fluid change was very noticeable on mine but it's still notchy as hell so I'm gonna pick up the JHM short-shifter soon.
From my experience of short shifters, they will make the amplify any notchiness in the gear change so fitting may make the symptoms worse.
