Short shift fitting

Hi could anyone recommend a short shift kit and where to buy, also what are they like to fit and is there any websites which show fitting instructions. Also anyone who has one fitted is it a good mod and worth doing ??....

mod your existing one, costs sod all and works just as well, i posted some instructions a while back in a short shifter thread on how to do it

I paid a good wedge for my Tanoga (4 years ago mind), which is excellent, but if you can do the same for free, then why not I say

An ebay special at around £30. Very easy to fit and there are a lot of people on here who are running them.

Listen to shineydave and mod your original one works great and cost you nothing. took me about 1.5 hours to do. well worth it!

If you mod your existing one you cant return it to original spec if required!!

Interesting Jonny, just watched a couple of vids they have on their site, a properly engineered piece of kit and £127.55 seems reasonable (Warranty replacement price!), which is nice.

Great installation video on the site, large file but well worth a view prior to fitting any kind of shifter.

that's true in that if you chop some length of the lever you can't easily stick it back on but you can move the bolt back to the original hole to put the throw back to where it was.

it's probably all rhetoric though becuase i certainly wouldn't want to go back to the pudding stirrer

The DIY setup shortens the trow by changing the pivot point it the bottom of the shaft and in addition me and shineydave shortened the top of the shaft by about inch and half. The bottom of the shaft can be changed back to standard very easy but obviously the top cant be put back once cut.
