RS4 steering wheel

Post by MarkB » Tue Apr 25, 2006 2:59 pm

Am I right in thinking that I need a later Airbag to fit an B5 RS4 steering wheel in my car?

If so where can I purchase one from cheaply?

I got one of ebay. Cost me about £130.

I now need some sort of bracket which fits inbetween the airbag and the wheel to make the horn springy.

TT airbag I believe is the correct one.
TT airbag has that naff dimpled chrome ring thing that seems to be present on everything that is round on the TT. You need an s-line 3-spoke sports wheel airbag from the A4 B6 model range (I believe the same wheel fits the A2, A3 &A6 models too)

There doesnt seem to be a separate part number - appears to come as part of the wheel.

The part number attached to this bracket is actually the part no. for the wheel.

Have you tried your local Audi dealer? Mine's very helpful and if you get to know the Parts guys, they will often find a way of accommodating unusual requests like this.

No dont really use the Audi dealer.

I may pop in and try my luck as i have had this wheel for about 8 months and been too lazy to get all the other bits required.

I had the same problem. Bracket comes with the steering wheel and is NOT availible seperatly. I ended up buying a late A4 steering wheel just for the bracket then resold it.
