connect up your heating system to the coolent to get the engine warm. or try to warm the oil up with a heater...?

there's always the tried and tested tow start method..but only as a last resort ..

i prefer to get it running without any water in the system to dry off all gasket cement,stops any water tracking accross gaskets,towing is last resort

still refuses to run after an hour or so tinkering,no boost/vac leaks although i have a throttle body error now too and it wont give more than just over 30%throttle angle on vagcom wonder if this is related to the boost sensor fault causing it to go into limp with reduced throttle...

after an afternoon tinkering it still refuses to start,has good spark timing is good,160psi compression on all cylinders,fresh fuel,spinning over with a boost starter its still not having any of it

yes both pointers lined up ok,will be something very simple im sure easy to miss something on these engines

have the cam sprockets been off the cam's..there is no key way so its easy to get em out of alignment..but then saying that if the valves aint hitting the pistons you should be ok..and im confident you know what your doing..
where abouts are you based..

timing is good i checked everything 3 times over,cams lined up and bottom pulley lined up on tdc mark,g28 engine speed sensor is getting a reading too if i check with vagcom measuring block 3,as i turn the engine over

i didnt rebuild the heads as the were in top condition,that and the fact im putting 2.4s and bigger turbos on next time round,im in northampton :?

i found the reason for non starting,the large fmic i bought from germany has a major blockage no airflow through it at all :shock: ,with the intercooler bypassed it started up after a struggle,so be carefull with those cheaper german fmics!!!im going to cut it open see whats inside it tomorrow,if im lucky it might be stuffed full of money :lol:

jesus holy hell . thats unbelieveable. those unit cant be flow tsested very well then. -bought in germany . made in china.

we fought em on the beaches, we fought over land and sea. and they bugger us with dodgy automotive goods 60 years on. barstards.
