You know that is so weird I had only just uploaded my new sig - the snow had melted unfortunately on the old one - and you bring up springs.

I've always been led to believe that you should measure from the highest point of the wheelarch to the centre of the hub, I guess this helps take imperfect tyre pressures out of the equation.

Julian, perhaps your spring is upside down ? :) Did you compare the springs before you put them on to ensure they are the same height, as thats a big difference and the difference is not linear, so winding one down 10 mm will not drop the car 10mm that side if you know what I mean ? :) Do they have part numbers to compare ?

When I adjusted mine, I took the coilovers off and measured them to match each other. They were about right when I dropped the car down.

Paz, makes sense in one way but its hard to get that exact compared to measuring to the ground ?

Dave - don't know how a spring could be on upside down ... the coilovers came ready built from Eibach; single piece units, nothing to build. Looked exactly the same in the box... and you can't put a coilover on upside down! :D

The coilys came as a full set with matching P/N's ... so don't think it's a mismatch ....

Went for a spin earlier, and endulged in some 'enthusiastic' cornering action ... they seem to be levelling out now so I'll see what the score is tomorrow...

I dunno ... fooking cars!

One of you guys should bung your arb on the softer setting to see how it handles. Not going to do any harm going by these people having cracked frames.

Then I will know how to fit mine when I eventually get them. Loots like I am going to have to heighten my coilovers as mine are about 60.7cm Front and 61.2cm at the rear. Not going to go too much higher though.

So, answer me this then: my passenger side rear c/o spring perch is wound right down to near the end of the strut (the end nearest the ground), in fact about 2cm from the end... and my drivers side rear c/o spring perch is set higher, i.e. about 5cm from the end of the strut ..... yet my bloody car is 1cm lower at the rear on the drivers side than it is on the passenger side!
Did you get it sorted ...? your not suffereing the dreaded cracked sub frame are you dude ..?
How is it after tweaks at MRC ..?

Anyone else know of another company that supplies the rods as mentioned by Derdle? Sounds ideal for running a car low, but keeping geometry the same...

Thanks to everyone... information overload :)

My one tyre which went pop had my fit one of my rear tyres to the front and the car is MUCH more settled & feels a much nicer ride. Clearly my knackered tyres had something to do wtih it. While running the H&R setup as low as it was I could not get the alignment right. Since the PSS9s kit the alignment was 100% I was told.

Hopefully a set of nice light 18's with new tyres all round + a few tweaks as discussed in this thread so far will see the car transformed!!

Quite excited!

Hi Guys, well the latest update as follows.

I have kept BBS CH wheels, but got for them in 18" x 8.5 with 225 tyres. Unfortunately even with the smaller rim and slimmer tyre the 18x8.5 225 are 2kg heavier than the 19x8 235. Anyway...

The car handled the bumps much better and gave overall a much more forgiving ride.

I had the ARBs set to the softer setting and the car is better again on bumpy roads and for normal driving. Unfortunately it has lost its sharpness on fast bends. First few corners gave me a fright as the car did not behave as I expected. It feels foreign to me!! Lets hope I get used to it.

Next I plan on raising the ride height as the camber cannot be set within tollerance at the height I am now (63cm) I will raise the car 2cm all round and see how if the alignment can be made then and come back with an update.

Cheers,
