I like the idea of a boost gauge, but being snobbish, I really like the Defis......
When I had my Scooby, there was a device called a SECS monitor....... is there such a thing for the Audi? Perhaps in the form of VAGCOM or similar?

I think that's what this little device (designed for the TT) does: http://www.rs246.com/index.php?name=PNp ... ic&t=66101

I chucked a piss cheap one into the vent hole... I fabricated a plastic holder so I did not even bother to cut the vent. I chucked the pod away.
It is all red lit though there was an option of green or red as you get a coloured 'rubber johnny' to slip on your bulb... it appears to be heat resistant as the red stays red and the dashboard has not turned all red yet!
I wired it up to the fag lighter ashtray backlight ... problem is it has a red needle too! Still I can see when its working OK so it does the job.

I think it was something like 16 quid plus a rip off 4 quid post... sorry no pics cus I cant be arsed to go out in this crappy weather.

I must say I checked out the advert.. they also have 'inclinometers'.... Do they sound alarm bells when a jaxy jockey moves in close!

Ahh - didn't know they did it for the Audi :)

Quite liking the other one too - but interested in where you'd mount it in the cabin.

Does VAGCOM show the real-time data? If so, my satnav/pda could provide a "portable" option...... depending on the shiny graphical user interface ;) (I'm easily impressed! :D)

Brett slightly OT but any chance you can post up some pictures of your ming blue beast for me? I've always been set on Noggy or Imola but every time I see a post from you, I always think your car looks mean so it's got me thinking about Ming Blue.

I think it might be the FMIC that gives it the mean look, but would be nice to get a few pics to see what it's like overall.

Right, back to topic sorry........

There isn't a Vagcom for PDA, they did a survey and there wasn't a demand.

I use a different program on my ipaq which is free but only shows the common OBD codes real time, (no boost) , I want to hack the program to choose my own look ups but havent sussed it out yet. It is superb tho, real time and it does logs, with a bluetooth OBD interface in the socket so no wires.

as I've mentioned on other posts, does my satnav (bluetooth) and all music as well.

Nigel.

Oh, and I have an electronic Omori boost guage in the drivers side vent (no the centre vents) and it is the smaller one, very difficult to get hold of now, but much much neater and less intrusive.

The electronic version is easier to install as the sender is in the engine bay and just wire to the guage (no vac hose). You can tell an electronic version as the needle does not sit at zero with the power off.

Where did you source the pods from Brett?
