I've broke my car :(
Latest, Spoke to garage, they have done a compression test on the engine and everything checks out ok, so at the moment its looking like a turbo.
They are gonna take a look at the turbo's this afternoon, and according to them, depending on what side it is might they be able to remove the turbo without removing the engine? I always thoughts it was an engine out job to do any turbo???

bad luck rich.
I bet you have bent a shaft in a turbo due to downpipes touching the ground.
Time for those RS6 turbos!

D'oh... that possible? OUCH! I assume the shunt can un-balance the turbo while spinning and cause it to bend? A bit scary... maybe I should not be visiting IOM!Doug_S2 wrote:bad luck rich.

Difficult to diagnose without "having a look"
Surely the exhaust flexi would take any impact away from the turbos. This would be obvious (big ding/scrape impact damage) on inspection. The skid pates on the rear of the front subframe should impact before the cats/exhaust. Any noise from the turbo loss of boost etc??
The sump is fairly vulnerable, slight graze would cause a leak and the escaping oil would burn off on the increased exhaust temperature, when accelerating. Leading to smoke. Any spots of oil on the floor? Is the oil smoke coming out of the exhaust or is it external?

The flexi after the bend at the bottom of the DPs doesn't stop shocks going up the turbo. Seen 2 cars with fooked turbos because of that.
