yep, just tap into the positive feed to the light behind the vent wheel (on a facelift) works a treat, my omori matches the dash brightness exactly, and adjusts with the dash.

The best way in is through the ecu waterproof housing, there is a rubber unused way in below the main ecu to engine cable entry, cut and then re-seal with silicone.

power the light from the feed to the vent roller back light to get it to be dimmed like stock.
Ive powered mine that way, but its not the same brightness, though it does dim with the controls.

I followed the AWE instructions without issue.

One thing which I did change was to add some extra wiring onto what was provided so that I could route the power cables alongside the existing looms, ie: along the top of the carpet under the dash.

Without adding extra wiring, you just had to have the power cables hanging across the front of the pedals (although they would be tucked up inside the lower dash panel when replaced).

I never managed to do anything with the illumination on mine (electrical), although I believe the mechanical gauge from AWE isn't as bright.

Cheers guys, so it sounds easier to connect it to the vent light, where do you connect the black wire if you do it this way, as it is only the white wire that makes it light up, is that right? Another thing i have noticed is the needle doesn't sit exact on the zero, it is just on top of the line below, is this normal?

Oh dear. That is pretty horrific TBH.
Why not just go the whole rice tuner special and stick a plastic pod down the side of the window or a bit of double sided tape to the top of the dash. Cheaper and looks just as crap.

Made this, just to be a bit different. Swoosh 60mm boost gauge. Waiting for some black headlining to cover it, make it a bit more OEM.
