I asked a similar question a while ago... I'm still none the wiser. I can't think it's that hard a job though.

Undo yr flanges, drop the driveshafts, undo the centre bolt now revealed in the centre of yr flanges, remove flange, replace oil seal, put it back together....
tip* - make sure yr oil filler plug comes loose whilst flange is out on o/s...its easier to get too then for topping up later... POP

happy dayz .... party ....

Had mine done today at a great VW Audi specialist called Nottingham Auto-technik! I can recommend!!
The leak looks worse than it is.... the oil level was still OK, but I dont like oil on the driveway..

I should have said the leak looked worse than it was.... No leaks now! plus changed the LHS EGT and now have full boost again WAHEY.... I must say I dont mind working on cars, but both those jobs would have been a reet pain to do on the driveway... in the cold using my wooden ramps.
LHS (near side) EGT is just a to55 job to do. RHS looks a piece of cake!

I should do the same job, but how i have understood it - is that you need to measure the correct location of the oil seal (part 18 ), cause there is nothing to prevent it going too deep inside when putting in the new one.
