shall I try it...? or should we rely on MRC's magic...?S4TAN wrote:Back on topic then ...
I've heard it said (in hushed whipsers) that you can put the N75 valve from an S2 in to get more boost ...

I've also heard, in not so hushed whispers, that if you screw around with the S4 N75 valve, you can get it to dance to all sorts of tunes...know anything about this Jules...??

Re: RE: N75 valve - how does it work
I have done this a couple of times when leaving the car places, it reduces it to the min, which is 0.4 bar of boost.saf wrote:Well see. But I believe that you can disconnect or do something to the N75 thus allowing a valet mode like effect where the ECU doesnt deliver the boost. Not sure if it will run like stock in limp mode or not.
I also had a "faulty" N75 valve just there... after MRC's new map I was running around 1.8 bar ish, which dropped to, at best 1.6 bar. I replaced the N75 valve (with a newer model? two different part numbers, I believe it might be a new verson)
Anyway, straight back up to 1.8 bar ...

I read somewhere, that this newer model can give 0.2 bar extra by default... have a read of this also ...
RE: Re: RE: N75 valve - how does it work
What's the part number of the N75 you put in Viper? I've also experienced similar N75 malarkey (lost a few psi of boost etc so suspected the new N75 i'd put in had gone "faulty")(with a newer model? two different part numbers, I believe it might be a new verson)
Also: i looked at the ECS "race" N75 on their website; the table shows it as being incompatible for the S4 - but there's a photo showing an S4/RS4 engine ... so i e-mailed them asking whether it's compatible or not ... they came back with a definite "No" ....
This is why i may experiment with an S2 N75 ... just need to find out which version to get (there are 2 on vag-parts web-site...) ... the S2 N75 is a 'slower' valve (so i'm told by someone in the know)
Deus ex machina

I will pop out at lunchtime and get the number of the new one I put in, and get the number off the older one that I took out tonight ... certainly fixed my problem!
