RE: car doesn`t know the drivers door??
Sorry - I'm probably being thick - but what exactly doesn't it know?
Do you mean when you press the key fob? Do you mean that the "door open" indicator is on?
Is the door there????

The door sensor circuit is located within the door lock itself.
More often than not, you can take these apart and clean the contacts to get them working again.

I know in VW golf's the door control module fails and it means the car doesn't recognise the drivers door is open. Also linked to the 'lights on buzzer' so if that doesn't sound if you leave your lights on then perhaps its also an audi problem too.

The door lock contains the contact switch. Strip and clean or replace....
