Fuel pumps
Bought two new OE fuel pumps from Audi Tradition ouch they are expensive.
Both pumps were installed today.
Car seems to start up first time every time just like she always had.
Seems the temporary upgraded pumps were the cause of the starting issues. Had to turn over the engine twice to get it started.
Will know for definite tomorrow when on cold start.
The exhaust smell in the cabin and petrol smell on cold start.
Both exhaust pipes 66/65mm sleeves are leaking.
New sleeves on order. Will be fitted when they arrive.
I had a nasty feeling it was manifold related.
Really pleased that the manifolds are ok.
Had a oil and filter change whilst we were at it.

Re: Fuel pumps
Hi Suz. I was almost planning what else I could do if the engine was to come out.
Re: Fuel pumps
Yay! Good news! Fingers crossed the the other faults are all sorted by the new pumps.

Re: Fuel pumps
Autodoc are listing different ones.

Might be a good idea to contact someone like milltek.
I would also assume TPS might list them as well.

Re: Fuel pumps
The ones srichards linked to look good. They are just simple sleeves. There'll be plenty of latitude in the length.

Re: Fuel pumps
Is that the £12 ish ones Ben Auto doc. 65mm x 125mm
I think they are stainless steel.
Which is good
OE ones look a lot more substantial
$150 Canadian dollars. Waiting for a email from them.
Last resort this as high shipping costs import duties etc.
Just heard. They only ship to the USA and Canada.
Just ordered 2 from Autodoc.
Many thanks Suz / Ben
Says it’s not compatible. But it is the right part number.
Re: Fuel pumps
It's only pipe so I'd hope any custom exhaust place could maul it into the right shape or copy what you have already if the replacements are badly wrong.
Found this company in the UK that seem to do a few custom options for sleeves and joining bits.

Re: Fuel pumps
Thank you Suz.
The s/s clamps from Autodoc should do the job.
At £30 worth a punt.
While I was at it ordered 4 new tyres. I have gone with continental sport contact 7 for a change. I have heard a lot of compliments for them. Plus better rim protection.
Always had pilot sport 4S previously,

Re: Fuel pumps
Yay. MOT passed this morning.
MOT tester made my day when he said “That is one nice car”
Just waiting for the 4 new tyres to arrive. Then get them fitted. Plus install the two exhaust sleeves when they arrive.

Re: Fuel pumps
Looking at the MOT results. Just crept in on lamda readings.
Last year 1.019
This year 1.029
Max allowed 1.030
I know I have a tiny exhaust leak on the sleeves.
New sleeves on order. Get them installed and with already having the new fuel pumps fitted.
That Just might improve the reading ?
