Ran diagnostics.
Error code 18080 p1672 004.
Could not start fan via Vagcom.

On a positive note. When I moved the car this morning there was no oil patch.
Hope it continues.

Got to go back and check the fuse. The power to the fuse, then continuity from fuse to fan.

Then check the pwm signal at the fan. If no signal, trace back to ECU.

What is the text of the error code?

Hi Ben.
The message was Open or short to ground.
Hope we can get it sorted as the oil temp was at 90-95 on the gauge on short distances.

Before the oil temp would sit at 85 ish all day long.

Have you checked the 2 big fuses (19 for fan 1 and 22 for fan 2):

Hi Ben. Car has been in garage all day today. So far not heard anything.
The above fuses. Are they located in engine compartment or in the cabin.
Thanks mate.

Success. Problem solved. Bad connection at the plug and socket.
Pick the car up in half hour.
Well that was a marathon amount of work.

By the way the oil leak was finally cured.
It was the Turbo oil drain pipe.
The face was stretched and out of true.
Face dressed up with a file so that it was flat, and new gasket and o ring installed.
No oil patches in 3 days. Wife very happy.

Great News. I thought the fan would be something silly.

Pleased it was.
But the old fan is still faulty.
Drive home was really quiet ?

Ps the hydraulic engine mount that showed faulty has miraculously cured itself.
Christine at it again.

Happy wife. No oil drips on the drive.
It definitely was the turbo oil drain pipe.

This was the third attempt to cure the leak from this pipe.
Gasket and o ring replaced every time.
This time making the surfaces flat appears to be what was needed to finally cure the leak.

Deep joy. Been out in the car all day. Oil temperature has been spot on. I don’t think it went above 85 degrees c even in todays hot weather.
