Oh bugger sorry. Then I hope it’s not as complicated as mine is.
I haven’t had a full quote yet. But expecting around 4 to 5 K based on initial estimate from local vag garage.

Some info/diagram on this thread re bufkin pipe. The ally mod is the one to go for according to most members recommendations.
Thankfully it can be done with engine in situ.
Although it is still a pain to do.

Update on mine: o.s.aux rad fubar. QST not had to change these on others so not a common fault for the C6. I’m just special I guess 😁😁😁. Kinda happy - a lot cheaper than the pipes...

How odd. Only Plusses and cars for hot countries had aux rads. Is yours an import? Or maybe they mean the oil filter / heat exchanger.

Might be a clue in your option codes.

Ahhh... just noted... mines a C6. I searched for ‘coolant leak’... didn’t realise the results were in c5 section. I guess that explains?

Haha. Yeah, totally different car. :) I should have realised you had a C6 because your name rang a bell, but I haven't frequented the C6 section for a while.

Well, I've just joined the club of C5 coolant leaks. Really just a weep. Somewhere I'd picked up the idea that the Australian delivered RS6 didn't have the hot country option but that has proved to be a furphy in my case at least. Hose to pipe weep on the auxiliary radiator system and only when cold. The pipe expands with a bit of heat and seals off. Just happened to be lucky? to see it after stopping after a few Km to get some groceries. As usual, access will be the fun part. Need to remove the headlight to get at the joint. 50times more difficult to get the headlight out than with the allroad, which should be the same but not.

Easier to remove the bumper and not faff around with difficult access. It's not hard to remove / refit and you'll probably save time overall.

Also judging by my lights, quite a big risk off snapping off the lower mounting points doing it without the bumper coming off. I have just made some replacement mounts which seem to have done the trick:

I've had my headlights out before and the difficult bit for me was the lower bolt with accesses through that tiny hole in the top panel. Otherwise it's a 5 minute job. For some reason the allroad arrangement is different enough to make it a snap, much bigger hole for example, but not here. Dropping the bumper is OK, just so much longer than a headlight out for this specific task.
