I’m quite sure that you have the wrong clock spring. You need part number 1J0959654AL according to ETKA which has extra connectors for heating the wheel. Look at this photo I found, it has 3 connectors. Airbag, tip and temp sensor (I believe). There is also an extra connector in the top right corner which I believe powers the heating element (not in photo).
From memory I recall that there is also a small harness to power the heating element.
You will also need the control unit for the MSFW with tip function, if you haven’t got it already.
VCDS shows mine as part number 4B0 907 487 H. About 15 years ago someone did a detailed write up on this retrofit, but I can’t find it right now.
