Yay. Good news. :) They are peasy easy to change. Did you get also the kit with the retaining pins, etc? Personally I've never needed them, but seems like some people struggle to push them out.

I've done pads and refurb'd calipers before so wasn't anticipating this to be too much more difficult

No, it's one of the easiest brake jobs on any car I have ever done. But the pins can corrode and seize apparently.

Looking at a set if new discs and pads and after a chat with Doug at MRC he said its possible to get them a bit cheaper instead of tps these days so figured I'd check here.

Shop to the rescue again haha!

So from what I gather people are ordering these, how do they compare to the tps ones?

Brake pads wise sounds like the brembo pads are still the best to have for a car that doesn't go on a track?

I'd go for OE pads.

I thought brembo pads were oe? Guessing tps for them is probably best?

Brembo are OE for the C6 brakes. Pagid for the C5. Special compound, though (or at least, unknown compound) so definitely don't get the cheapo ECP Pagid pads.

Thanks Shop, last 2 questions where would you get the pagid ones from if not from tps?

Do the zimmer discs have a aluminium centre like the oem ones?

I would try TPS or Virdee (on here). They are a bit pricey (as pads are) but i think they are the cheapest option for sufficient braking. Might be worth checking to see if there are any special deals on Ferodo DS2500 or Pagid RS4-2-x or R19 (or R29 - can never remember which is the road pad) but every time I have looked, OE has been cheapest. Be wary that some pad manufacturers sell them per wheel, rather than per axle. Ferodo do this for the pads for the 8 pot calipers. :bash:

Looks like I'll be going for oem pads after having a look about at the other options.

Interested on how the zimmer discs compare though and if they are the same weight etc

The rear ones I bought are identical to the OE disks. Haven't tried the front ones. The OE 390mm disks are nice and cheap. :)

Front ones are exactly the same as the Audi ones. Just no Audi ID on the disc and associated premium
