Price includes fitting.

Suggest you look on the Milltek website www.millteksport.com and it will give you all the info your require either under Products or FAQ.

Number of benefits including Stainless steel (lighter and longer lasting), More power/torque, Releases the V8 sound muted by the OEM system, etc.

Whats the standard exhaust made of then? Is it just the tips that are stainless steel? How long should the standard one last - I did a search ages ago and couldn't find anyone who had needed to replace any of it.

Do most people replace the cats with the sports cats too???

Mine is standard, 6 1/2 years old and 100K miles, and apart from a slight leak at a joint (simply repaired) seems to be going strong.

Main benefit of an upgrade is if you do it with a remap - let's the whole system breathe better so you can extract 5% more from it. If you follow this route the map needs to be done with the new exhaust on so as to get the best from the system.

What about just replacing the exhaust without a map? Will there still be power gains to be made. I see the site claims 8%-10% power gains - I wonder if that is just with the exhaust replaced or with a map as well.

I'd be surprised to see that much without tweaking the ECU to take advantage of the exhaust. The system does do some self adjustment (as it does with fuel etc) but not sure it is that capable!

Most of the tuners reckon they get to around 500 with a Stage 1 remap, and then with new exhaust, airfilters, etc get to about 540-550 for Stage 2. ie, they get 8-10% but it also requires freeing up the incoming air, and adjusting the map.

Personally the exhaust is on my list for when the standard one fails, but not before - I can't justify the full cost, but the differential makes it well worth it!

Yes I am of the same thinking. Keep the standard one until it fails. There are other things (like a cambelt change) which take priority at the moment.

Same here. 'Though I've got the Audi sports exhaust which I guess falls somewhere between the standard one and a Milltek. I find it ok noise wise; sounds mean when it's hot. But, would most likely change it if I ever got a remap done. That too is a low priority at the mo.

Further update as Grizz (Unit 20) has come up with a great deal as follows:

0-5 units = 15% discount

6-10 units =20% discount

11+ units = 25% discount

Surely with these discounts we can get 11+ to benefit from a 25% discount.

So far the following have expressed an interest:

1) Stuart6587
2) Rob8457
3) Spanner1210
4) Nudenut
5) JDS67
6) Alexrs6+

so further replies awaited.

discounts from what base figure , and prices fitted / not fitted ? grizz good as he is , and he is , is a 500 mile round trip , which is a lot of pound notes to add to the equation

I was planning on just having my silencers removed with a straight bit of pipe welded in :D

May not see the same sort of power increase (is being remapped too) but should get me the noise I'm pining for!

But if i can get a suitably cheap miltek i may be persuaded (I am in oxford though, so driving to unit 20 isn't really practical for me...)

But driving to Banbury (MRC) is about 20 mins - and they do Miltek too!! So go get yourself the full stage 2 treatment and a grin from ear to ear!!

In fact - looking at your gearbox posting I see you are going there next week - all done in one trip sounds good to me!!

I am also interested but again i'm in the south so a fair drive to get to Grizz. Need to weigh up the other prices and factor in the petrol / time to get the true cost.
