I do this, too, but every single fecking time I come back, there is a car parked next to me...
Same, went shopping Thursday night and parked the furthest away from the supermarket with I would guess around 60 spaces free .....come out and you can guess.....a car parked tight next to mine with tons of spaces all around. Seems that some people can only park in a space if its next to another car. Total goons.

CCTV?
None  . This was no cheap-ass hotel either, the stupid peeenus who did it could have easily covered the cost of the repair. I even walked up and down the local streets (only 3 streets in this tiny village, and I wasn't the only ghey there  ) to see if the car had been moved somewhere else after, no joy though.
One of those things, don't really want to know who did it now cause I would damage their car and see how they liked it, my mother said that isn't the way to solve matters

What a pain. Really feel for you.

I used to live in a residential area in Bristol which had big old houses, but were almost all turned into 4 or 5 separate flats now.
Narrow streets and every flat had at least one car = parking nightmare!

I regularly found parking damage from idiots who can’t parallel park properly. Scuffs on bumper, cracked no.plate etc etc. The first couple of bits of damage and I got really angry about as I have a bit of a detailing fetish, but soon resigned myself to it being a fact of life while I lived there and stopped caring about the old car as much.

Was dying to upgrade to a new car, but purposely kept the old one until I moved house.

2 months after moving to a house with a driveway and garage, I picked up my RS... and that was over 4 years ago now.

Really hope you get the damage fixed for little money and hassle.

Reminds me of the post from somebody on here about getting hit by a Gritter Lorry who didn't stop. Scumbags!

Hey, its not just at home your car is at risk. My car had £2.5k damage done to it when it was parked at work, inside a locked compound guarded by men with big sticks

The biggest pain in the ring is finding time to get the car to a bodyshop to have a look at it. Most don't work Sats and finish at 4.30, aint no good to a working man. :boohoo:

Don't like pulling sickies, only had 4 days off my whole school time. Only had 5 days off sick in my 13 years at current company (not including the 5 months when I had my back op  ). Managed to pop round the local merc specialist tonight, £350 cash so not bad actually, another £400 if I have the bonnet done as well.

Go steady I'm new here!

I've seen in Germany (where I work a lot) a guy had magnetic scuff protectors, essentially a magnet strip sewn into the hem of a protective cloth. I'm guessing they were of his own construction.

He put them on the roadside edge of his car (if parked on a roadside) and they just protect that edge of the bumper. Ok they wont protect against a proper bash but they might just stop those grazing scratches that cost a fortune to sort out!!

Ofcourse this was in rural Germany where theft isn't something that happens, I'm certain that if we used anything like that in England (or Wales) it would soon be borrowed by some Jeremy Kyle loving louts to be used as traffic light windscreen washer cloths.
