ive seen the flange axle part nr in ETKA has a B behind it, does that mean it has been upgraded? (01L 409 355 B @ 280 euro..)

Doesn't look like it. I would just put it back with the new oil seal, clean up the area around the diff, then see how it goes. If there's no more leaking and no play when the axle is in, then your problem is probably coming from somewhere else.

yeah i hope the leaking is gone with the new seal in, but the seal wont solve the play (and probably the play will get it leaking again after some time). the part that touches the flange is very flexible. You can see theres a metal spring behind the part that touches the flange. it can be modded to tighten the spring, but i dont touch it. So i think (if it cant be solved without having to take the engine/box out) i have to live with the clunk or get myself a black plus

Ive bought Kroon oil Syngear 75W90, found out its semi-synthetic...dont know if its that important to get full synthetic?
