Post by Gregstv » Thu Dec 03, 2020 11:14 am

Playing with MPPS16 on windows XP service pack 3. Followed the instructions and can't get the program up. It's says exe running but that is all I get. Any idea of what I am doing wrong?

Old laptop. I use it with the William programmer. Had it for 20 years. It's running XP professional with service pack 3.

32 or 64bit?

You tried turning off firewalls and AV presumably.

You could try turning off Data Execution Prevention:

Could you try running it in a virtual environment with XP SP1 or SP2?

Is this to upload & download tunes on the ECU? I've got both Galletto 1260 and MPPS, I can't remember why, but Galletto was the one that worked for me. Windows 10.

Want to do a full read of the spare ECU. Once I get that to work I can do the one in the car and make a clone. Well that is the plan.

Everything you read says MPPS16 I'd for XP service pack 2. Maybe service pack 3 is playing up with it.

Found om
ne of the computers with windows 7 on it. I guess you need boot mode to read the files. I am on the desk with the spare computer. Looking at how to make it a clone for the car. I think I need to change the Bosch ID to match the one in the car. I not sure where it is stored yet.

you need to copy the immo from your original ecu or do the immo delete on the new ecu then it will work.

Usually yes if an aftermarket tune, no if stock. And not needed for write usually either, unless the aftermarket tune is a &^%**^&*(
