That's a good idea, will ask Star Performance if they know someone who might do that?

If it's a new one the question then is do you risk buying second hand from eBay at the current prices of circa £500 minimum or buy a new one but none in U.K. so do Bosch have any available in Germany, any thoughts?

They used to be quite cheap, but I guess rarity makes them more expensive now. Have you searched for the part number on ebay.de?

I would be very curious to know if a regular A6 TCU could be flashed with the RS6 program. I suspect that technically it's possible, but AFAIK no-ones ever tried it.

There's this one:

Not cheap at 400 euros, but looks like that's the going price.

I'm the other side of the FR bridge, with a TCU that's not being used at the moment.

Is the car drivable?

^Top man.

Sweegie, did you ever get anywhere looking into reverse engineering the TCU?

Nah, once I got the MTM solution for the gearbox, I lost interest and started hacking Kawasaki bikes :bash:

To make real progress with it, you would need to run some kind of eeprom emulator with code tracing in the TCU, & that's beyond my toolset.

Been scanning through this post and I had a similar situation. Worked from cheapest parts upwards, kidding myself it wasnt the ecu. It was evidendednt it had been opened before so I wouldn't bet on a recon job. Fortunately a breaking Rs6 post came up, took the plunge and hey presto it was the TCU. Before I got there I tried reactance in the loom, replacing box loom, checking valves. if it looks like a turd and smells like a turn then......
