Has anyone actually fixed this gearbox fault yet?
Right I have the lit up PRNDS when starting sometimes, if it happens I just turn off and restart and PRNDS is back to normal and car drives fine. I've done a search and several people have had the same fault code but no one seems to have fixed it yet.

Re: Has anyone actually fixed this gearbox fault yet?
Aren't the looms in the Box a common fault and prone to issues due to heat cycling and the fluid? .I would look at a wiring fault myself as it's intermittent . Though I'm sure shopp will correct me in a minute

Re: Has anyone actually fixed this gearbox fault yet?
If it is complaining about the pressure control valve (isn't that just a fancy name for a solenoid? ) then I'd be changing that and also checking the fluid level and making sure there aren't any leaks.
Is it worse in any particular type of weather or when it's been used a lot or left standing?

Re: Has anyone actually fixed this gearbox fault yet?
Good chance the loom has failed inside the box, pretty sure they go brittle over time. Sump has to come off either way, so can then check the solenoids at the same time.

Re: Has anyone actually fixed this gearbox fault yet?
Maybe weak battery and / or corroded 200A fuse cause the fault condition when cranking. Try starting it with another fully charged battery connected with jumper cables.
Or could be wiring as already mentioned. You could check the connector to the box for corrosion, too.

I've Removed and cleaned the two maxi fuses in the plenum recently they weren't to bad as I keep an eye on the drains. I have an AA warranty but they don't cover wiring faults so might get the control valve changed and pay for the loom.

I had the same fault, and it turned out to be my Ecu . Search my threads and all will be explained (well in case of my issue)

I could give you my humped one and if comes up with a short to plus on either 2 or 3 and not 5 then to me me that would suggest the tcu. I checked the loom for resistance and replaced the box loom, but evidently it was the tcu. If your handy with a multi Meter, get a copy of elsa win and that will give you a procedure for fault finding. Drop matV8 a line

Re: Has anyone actually fixed this gearbox fault yet?
Pretty sure the resistance has to be under 8ohm on the 16 pin plug. If it looks dry and clean when you take it out I would be surprised if it's the loom
