Newbie questions
Re: Newbie questions
Re: Newbie questions
2. It's been a long time since I last repaired/replaced mine, but seem to recall that holding down the eject button for several seconds will 'force' an eject of the cartridge (provided it's got power etc.).
From memory, it will normally try to return the current CD back into the cartridge before ejecting it, but if said CD is stuck (e.g. the roller can't grip it properly), then the whole eject process can't complete.
The force eject just spits the cartridge out regardless, leaving the stuck CD in (but you can then normally fish it out through the gap left by the cartridge).
Regardless, you'll probably want to stripe it down and clean all the mechanisms anyhow, and I don't remember it being particularly difficult to remove/take apart, so no real biggie.

Re: Newbie questions
I haven't found a way of ejecting it without power...that's where I'm at.
No matter where you go, there you are.

Re: Newbie questions
I seem to have power as a little orange light glows inside the mech when I press the eject button. Holding it down hasn't helped.
The Nav Plus and CD changer will both be coming out when I find a decent replacement head unit that doesn't look too Halfords.

Just used a bit of folded card 6cm x 10cm and slid it all the way under the CD cartridge and out it popped. Put it back in and it stuck again, but the card got it out second time too.
Re: Newbie questions
Cool. Is it possible there was a 'round left in the chamber' when you ejected the cartridge?
If so, then pressing the eject button again with no cartridge inserted may be enough to get that CD out.
Either way, you'll probably want to clean the inners of the unit (and the CDs!) to help prevent it happening again.

Unfortunately no left over cd. Safe to say the changer is toast.TechNick wrote:Cool. Is it possible there was a 'round left in the chamber' when you ejected the cartridge?

Re: Newbie questions
I have two little black boxs in the lower grill that are the transmitter units. I am unsure what brand mine is but when switched on there is a loud beep To inform me it's running

Re: Newbie questions
I have my "parking aid" transmitter mounted in the front grille just above the number plate.
I have mine wired using the "spare" switch slot in the dash (well it's spare as long as you don't have the electric rear window blind). The switch kills the system - the reset button... well I'm not saying where that is.

Re: Newbie questions
No transmitters in the obvious places and the switch seems to do nowt.......
I'll ask the dealers to ask the previous owner what the switch is for.
