if thats the kufatec kit, then there should be space for it. I would make sure that as much as you can get tucked in behind the radio slot is tucked in - this is kinda hard to describe, but if you have the radio out, there is space behind the radio (and a slight trough) and there is sapce down the left hand side of it too, so get as much wiring as possible in there before you start to push back the unit.

note that with the rns-e the last inch or so to push the radio in should be hard enough.

when I added in the bluetooth kit and video in, I had to splice&solder them in because of lack of space behind it - seems to be not so much of a problem in other rns-e fitted cars.

Its just a plug and play adaptor kit that came with the sat nav you can buy them from ebay for about £15 but like I said the lights on it are not working when i turn the lights on and it doesn’t switch on and off with the ignition ?

so I would guess thats either a coding problem (vag-com) or its the can bus splice - where did you tap into can-hi/lo

(I think I know what i need to do now) its something to do with the CAN H & L wires I need to remove the Speedo cluster and attach a wire to the blue connector that goes into the Speedo pin # 3 the blue and white wire and need to run a wire from there to the RNS-E adaptor there’s a video that shows you what to do. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/444044/au ... tallation/

As you can see in the video its very basic does anyone know of a clearer guide that’s not too complicated ?

Get a pro to set it up, there's allot more to it than just a cable adaptor, I had mine fitted by Hazzy Dayz and still was about two hours work for them.

Can bus is the data network used by the various controllers to communicate. Think of it as the cars internet :)
can hi and can lo are the two data cables required. They are classic twisted pair (again, just like a network cable) and the same signal is sent on both wires at the same time but sent out of phase (so +1v sent on one can wire would be sent at the same time as -1v). The idea is that the combined signals of both wire cancel each other out thus preventing the impact of interference allowing longer wires and faster data speeds.

Can bus can be easily spliced (wire joined onto existing cable) you just need to make sure that the connection is good and not to unwind the twisted pair any more than you need to.

once I tap into the blue and white wire behind the Speedo and run a cable where does this wire go on the adapter plug, does it go to can h or can l as im not clear about this atm and don’t want to damage anything or blow it up

have added some pics of the blue and white wire im tapping into and a picture of the top of the new RNS-E sat nav unit with the wirering diagram

Why didn't you just tap into the CAN wires at the TMC module? No need to remove the dashpod.
