Full Closure from KeyFob

Post by Digger » Sat Dec 25, 2010 11:07 pm

About to take ownership of a 2004 RS6. Windows fully close on turn and hold when key in driver's door lock but not when holding down lock button on either keyfob.

Can a Dealer program this to work?

Also when closing using the key one of the rear windows (occasionally both) will decide to open up as if sensing an object in the way. Takes a few goes to close it. Sensor need replacing?

Thanks Amanda. Ooh I forgot . . . when I last had a fiddle the passenger-side mirror did not appear to dip when reverse selected like in my previous E39. Is this another programmable option for the Dealership or did I not work out how to enable it?

Pretty sure the mirrors don't dip on reverse!

I wanted them to auto fold on closure but they appear only to be connected direct to the switch

The nearside mirror only dips on reverse IF you have memory seats AND have the mirros adjustment switch turned to the passenger mirror.

There is no auto-fold function on the mirrors - only manual fold, and then only with the ignition on and if you're doing less than 5mph.

...and for anyone with memory on the B7 RS4, the dipping logic thinks you're in a LHD car, so you have to point to the driver's side if you want the passenger mirror to dip!

Sounds like your memory module has been incorrectly coded or wired.

You're probably right, but it's so unimportant that I've never investigated it. Memory was never an option in the UK (I had to go through Audi exclusive) so they probably reached for the only part / coding they had to hand

Certainly when that same module is fitted to other B7s (A4 and S4) it's coded/wired correctly so that the mirror switch must be turned to the nearside - I'd get a VAG-COM expert to check the coding, you might be able to get it working correctly for little/no cost.
