Hey, look out for my mate NIKU (reg) in a Fiesta Yellow wrap Lamborghini Gallardo, as he's at the ring this weekend tooShinobi675 wrote:In sport there's minor drone at about 1,800. But... I've never actually noticed it in the real world because if I'm in sport, I'm not idling...
I'm at the ring this weekend; I'm sure I'll get a chance and will try and get picture in picture of the rev counter and the exhaust from outside. Might see if I can get a lap
I'd also like to get a shot of a drive by, I've no idea what it's like from the outside other than when my wife took it to the gym one morning and I'd left it on dynamic. Woke me up with a shock! Sounded awesome, better then the Lamborghini across the road...
If you see him tell him you know Mark

It can't really be called fiesta yellow! Will say hello, weather is looking good for Sunday and Monday thankfully. Pouring with rain on the Saturday but it's only open for a couple of hours in the evening so no fuss there.Covkiller wrote:Hey, look out for my mate NIKU (reg) in a Fiesta Yellow wrap Lamborghini Gallardo, as he's at the ring this weekend tooShinobi675 wrote:In sport there's minor drone at about 1,800. Re: Deano's B8 RS4
Don't cock it up else you'll be sanding it off!
Re: Deano's B8 RS4
That's why it's for the pros only.
Re: Deano's B8 RS4
@shinobi675 how did you get on at the ring? Did you get a chance to grab any footage of the JCWeldFab?
Re: Deano's B8 RS4
I had the firmware updated today to the latest version. 1hr 10 install! Noticed a few improvements already like voice control and map speed.

Re: Deano's B8 RS4
So I might have spent the day with Trups to try something new on the B8. More info to follow:

Re: Deano's B8 RS4
Carbon badges on (fake for now to lose the chrome and to practice as the real ones don't turn up until Jan)"

I also fitted the Osram Clear Blue Intense bulbs from Trups in my modified lights:

Really happy with them and great now i have them setup right.

Re: Deano's B8 RS4
Sorry for the bump, but when doing this modification do you just plug the pipe or do you also need to seal off the plastic nozzle thing the pipe previously attached to as well?DeanoC wrote:Another little tweak. I plugged the vacuum input for the exhaust valve actuators.
I'm much happier. It's sounds as it should now all the time. In order of noticeable difference:
- Rumble on let off and the up and down shift farts and blips between roughly 1k and 4k are much more noticeable
- exhaust noise on acceleration between 1k and 4k. Again quite difference - much deeper
- smoothness between 1k and 4k. Slight but definitely noticeable
There is a slight drone in D7 under load below 50mph but to be honest it's still less than what i expected this car to make in quiet mode. Have the stereo on over 10 and you can't hear it at all.
I was going to use a bolt but i found this random thing in the same drawer as the zipties and it was a nicer fit.
Another thing i noticed was having the rear seats folded down (which i did on my return leg) makes the exhaust much louder in the cabin.
Re: Deano's B8 RS4
Just plug the pipe mate. The other end is exhaust side so the vacuum is gone and the flaps will stay open as they are spring loaded
