Here's a couple of comparison pictures... Although I must credit the sources, the RS6 disc is from rs6.com and the RS4 disc is one of clives photos from a previous post:

I've just had a thought.... the Phaeton ducts may not fit using the RS6 disc. The disc is more inset (reason for requiring the caliper bracket)

The ducts work with std B5 RS4 disc's but I don't know if there would be clearance for use with RS6 disc's. I would assume them to be OK with B7 RS4 discs as the offset is the same as the B5.

I'm moving this to Tuning & Modifications as there is plenty of general interest in this thread.

The only problem that i have been told about with regards to using RS6 discs is that you have to remove the splashgaurd to fit them, this can lead to cooked cv boots if you dont allow the discs to cool after spirited driving and track days.

Ah, so as I thought, Phaeton ducts won't work with RS6 disc's, you need a caliper bracket because of the offset change, they are heavier because of the method of 'floating' the disc, but they are handed.

I'm now thinking B7 disc's may be the easier/better option unless you really need the extra durability of the RS6 disc

Fully floating discs don't work in road cars very well as they tend to jam-up quickly.....fine for race cars where they are maintenaned reguarly but a more difficult proposition on road cars.

The pheaton ducts do fit the rs6 discs. I have fitted the ducts to rs4 setups, rs6 setups and a small porker brake setup.

The b7 rs4 setups do not fit every wheel and if you need to space the wheel out to fit, it can start to rub on the arches. But then they are cheaper becauSe you do not need custom brackets - but then the discs are more expensive than rs6+ - it is all a compromise! Some 18" BBS wheels do not fit becasue the inside diamter is too small - so they need custom, custom brackets!

I advise evreyone to fit one of these as you will never doubt the brakes again!

Doug, would the phaeton duct benefit/fit my rs6?

Also, the discs you fitted at the weekend are superb!!! I did get some strange looks when bedding them in on the M40 afterwards, had to time it so there was minimal people around as I did'nt want to knaff anyone off. They were nicely "blued" in by the time I got to the NEC.
