NOS sprayed onto the Intercooler

Post by viperbl » Tue Feb 27, 2007 3:14 pm

How about that for an idea? Rather that using water, use NOS to freeze the intercooler ...

Never thought about this or knew it was possible?

check out near the bottom of this link for the one they used on this car... ahmm, beast!

And would you maybe need different maps for when you where using it and not using it??

I am thinking if the air is very cold you put further advance and get more power, but surly you could not run that much advance if you did have it cold all the time ...

Co2 would be cheaper

C02 would probably get into the engine via the airbox on the S4/RS4 and extinguish the spark plug flame!

cooling the intercoolers a good idea, but surely you'd see better power gains if you actally used the NOS as intended, and fed it to the engine?

steve uses nos into the engine and he can purge it onto the IC before a run.

How much power can the RS4 engine as it is hold?

I always thought NOS into the engine was cheetin :P, maybe ok for getting rid of turbo lag, but then again, nos into the intercooler maybe a little bit of a waste of money ... I mean, Doug, how much extra power could realistically be had by doing this??

as long as the ecu is happy with the nos you run I do not see why you cannot run 100bhp extra with no problems.

I know of a mapped s4 with 200 shot of nos on it.

How about nitrogen then?

Then run it on methanol burns a lot cooler than petrol, you will need huge injectors to get if correct?

I think he means he has the option which switches the nitrous to the intercooler instead of the engine for a few seconds?

purging no2 came originally from the older american systems, you vent / purge the system, as this no2 lines were too big and it turned to liquid, so was no good, you purge this off before your about to use the system, so you get the spray of gas and not liquid.

all tho im no expect, you need to have a read over at www.wizardsofnos.com still have and used to run one off there systems on my old xr4x4, no need for purging so no wasted gas
