any ideas ? help me!

driving home from work yesterday, put my foot down expecting 20 'ish psi of boost instead it sat at 5 psi ! wouldnt go any furnther !!! help

i let it settle (drive without the turbo) try to give it some again and the needle on the boost gauge flys round to over 20 psi and away we go ! wtf !

so i though some weird glitch dont worry ! then it strikes again 5 psi wont go a snitch over. then goes away again


today driving everything seems ok till i get on to a dual carriageway heading home . floor it and 5 psi ! let off and let it settle, try again 5 psi !

any help would be much appreciated !!


within the last 2 weeks i did the maf cleaning trick to try an sort out a long term fault where the car stutters at WOT ! (which didnt fix the stutter prob) if this helps.

might be MAF
If the MAF is putting out incorrect readings, the ECU will go into limp mode restricting boost to 5psi.
Audi are doing an exchange scheme at the moment, you can get an exchange MAF for 80 notes.
You might as well get it changed anyway, if its still the original one from factory.

car is fixed !

main fault was spark plugs causing massive missfire !!

but changed/check whilst looking for fault were

1. fuel filter
2 d/valve
3 maf cleaned
4 vag com check (THANKS paul n from "s2forum.com")
5 wastegate diaphragm
6 wastegate frequency valve


7 spark plugs (sorted it) can you believe it !

Good to hear it is sorted but can you say why 7 plugs sorted it? Did you get some new duff ones !

doug i would be more worried about the 5 wastegate diaphragm's and 6 wgfv's at 35 quid a shot ! hehehe
