B5 RS4 starts shaking when floored

Post by LOWR1D3R » Sun Nov 15, 2009 8:54 pm

Shaking took place first time last sunday.
I was doing 80km/h on 6th gear and dropped to 3rd quickly. I was going to pass this car ahead of me, but when i hit 3rd gear in the car started to shake and shiver like hell. Felt like car paralyzed in a sec. ESP didn´t flash even once.

Today i was driving 50km/h on 3rd gear when i accelerated heavily. Car started shaking again.

Both times i had same gear on, but different speed and revs. Not icy road etc.

This has happened only twice.
No any fault codes.
EGT sensors renewd 1 month ago.
Spark plugs and ignition coils 30 000km ago.

Has anyone else had similar issues?
What could it be??

One of your spark plugs is dead. Happened to me twice. Once it was just like 2000 kms after last spark plugs change.

Plugs are now replaced with new ones.
There´s a second possible cause for this failure.

Broken joint. See pic.

yes i got the cam cover brackets done at the same time and they had some pin hole sized leaks so i mixed up some araldite and put it on the welds then heated it up with a heatgun so the araldite went thin and flowed. as i was holding it at the same time i could control where the glue went. :nogarors4:
