Guys,

Cleaned the discs this evening there was a fair amount of <beep> on them. Feel a bit of an amatuer and wonder now why I did not clean them earlier. Have not test driven as yet as it started to piss down. Also front pads are virtually at there limit, sourcing a second hand set to try and will report back once have new(2nd hand) pads and clean discs.

One thing I did not get around to doing was drilling the holes through, any ideas on the size? They are full of deposits and could do with a clean also.

You can get Textar 911 pads from Euro Car parts for £80 that fit.

IIRC the holes are 5mm - should be fairly obvious though :-)

Any idea on the part code at Euro Car parts, I have been looking and searching through the forum for the correct spec pads for the 4 pot Movit kit. I have found 993 turbo pads, 996 early turbo pads, GT2 pads, GT3 pads - which one? Most on Euro car parts are £60-£90 but the GT2 pads are £216!.

I was going to order part code;

TEXTAR n/a 101330210 BRAKE PAD SET TEXTAR NOT FOR M450 CERAMIC BRAKES front pad set up to 02 model

These are £62.00. Johnw uses Mk1 GT3 pads on his Movit 4's.

or the 993 turbo pads, part code;

TEXTAR n/a 101330130 FRONT BRAKE PADS 911 Turbo 93-, 928GTS 92-96

pictures of my brakes can be seen here;

Cheers all.

hello

you have the 4M6 front kit: 996 GT3 (mk1), 996 turbo

and you have the 4S1/4S2 rear kit: 993 biturbo rear or 993 (non turbo) front, it is the same calipers.

The 993 GT2 calipers are the "big red", they look like your rear calipers, but biggest. The pads are higher.
The 933 GT3 (mk2) and 996 GT2 are the same calipers, 6 pots = Movit 6M1

For front you need (porsche) 996 351 949 12

Have ordered the new pads from Euro Car Parts.

Any tips on changing the pads, I hear it is a five minute job.

I was thinking easing apart the old pads with something, then pulling the pin and removing the old pads, putting the new ones in and replacing the bar and pin? Is it really that easy?

UPDATE: Pads arrived today and were fitted this evening, also took the oppprtunitty to drill the holes (5mm as suggested)

Took the car out on a test drive and no more issues. It's like night & day, the flip of a coin, black & white etc etc.

Well Chuffed, many thanks for all the help.

I said I would post how I got on fitting the B7 RS4 discs with the Movit calipers. This went extremely well. If you want to know the specifics, follow the link below.
