Well good luck to whoever takes it on. I suppose the up side is that there can now be one more person who is privileged to drive such an awesome vehicle :kissmyrings:

Yes thanks for replying.

I'm confused. How could it have a full service history with Audi?

When ever I have my car serviced, I have to give the reg No. and service dept know the chassis No. and everything that's been done to the car right back to the previous owner.

So what was the previous owner doing to get around this when they took the car for what must be three services. (at least one a year?)

Can it really be perfect? Has the engine been stripped down and examined? Did it get run it? Was it warmed up and warmed down?

Even if the answer was yes the car wouldn't be perfect as it's done 20K miles. Is the answer is no or don't know then it's more likely far from perfect.

I agree that with a 3 year warranty there shouldn't be anything to worry about but considering the resale (i.e. when out of warranty) will not be that clever, the price seems high.

I'll watch from the sidelines with interest.

Good answer

My S3 came from AFN Portsmouth, I take it that is no more as well?

All the best with the sale and let us know how you get on.

Cheers

Look, at the end of the day we are an Audi main dealer. The standards to which we operate are probably the highest in the industry and Audi UK make damn sure that we don't let those standards slide.

Do you chaps honestly think that we would be able to sell a dodgy car?

And in answer to a previous thread, you are absolutely correct we don't know how it has been driven whether it has been warmed up or warmed down etc etc. But then you wont know that about any used car because knowbody in the world will ever tell you that they have thrashed the bollox out of their car.

Imagine it...
" Yeah mate it's sweet as a nut I screw to work in the morning then screw it home at night " I don't think so!

However what we do know is that trained, licensed Audi technicians have thoroughly inspected the car for defects. And all they could find was that a service was due and the wheel centre caps were corroded.

My point being, stolen or not the history of this car is absolutely in no way what so ever any different from any used car. If it had been stolen after registration knowbody would be any the wiser.

I just don't see what the fuss is about.

This car will sell and the owner will do very well from it, not to mention the fact that it is more individual than any other RS4 ever.

Chris,
Echoing the others - thanks for registering. Great to see someone from a main dealer on here.
Good luck, Richard.

Chris.... i`ll swap my R32 for it.......

Oh one condition..... i dont pay the difference

No in all honesty the RS4`s are truely wondeful cars, with the 3 years warranty the new owner should have peace of mind.

Thank you for registering!

when Audi sort out the shambles/reputation of their dealer service network then I'll stop laughing at this. Seriously, whilst you think (possibly the sales side) is OK, they are woefully let down by a service operation (including Audi's call centre operation) that needs shaking upside down and is long overdue restructuring.

Good luck with the sale - I personally wouldn't pay a premium for a car with history like this. If I had doubts about buying it, then surely this would make it more difficult to shift later if potential buyers have similar thoughts.

I still can't see how you (dealership) can justify £39K for a stolen/recovered RS4. I would of thought £39K for a never stolen recovered 20K miler would be pushing it. I'm also concerned that a stolen vehicle can have a full Audi history.....surely the police will have visited the dealerships that did the services on a unregistered vehicle.....I had to give my chassis number to buy a set of mats let alone get a service, I would assume that the Audi computer database would have listed the chassis number as stolen. All very odd.

Did it have to be registered before it was brought by SGSmith group from AFN; being the 'first owner' on the V5 would be a bonus? or due to the car's history it had to be registered first.

Also is the 3yr warranty not running down from August 04? or will it have the full 36months/ up to 60k miles from when ever you sell it?

I agree with the others, that the current price is not attractive due to its history. IMO most RS4 potential buyers will have already some knowledge on these cars and no doubt you will disclose its history if asked.

Good luck in your sale

There are only 3 other RS4,s for sale on the Audi network at present and none of them have a good spec.

The RS4 at lomond Audi has been on sale for ages and i am sure its had the price cut from a couple of months ago.

IMHO the best of a bad bunch would be the Edinburgh car and only after a hefty reduction in price.

The stolen/recovered car,s asking price is taking the piss,i suppose they could ring up David Icke(son of god),he might buy the fecker

Cheers fc

The car was registered in Aug 2004 and the 36 month warranty will run from that date of registration.

Out of interest what (realistically) do you all think it should be sold for?

Taking into account that it has full warranty & roadside assistance. And if it wasn't stolen and recovered.
