My view is that there will always be something you don't expect however much you check it over so find out as much as you can and negotiate accordingly.Perhaps i'm just too anal then. When I bought my car it had no major DTC's. (Alarm codes from window being open and a radio based fault).
My neighbour did say I am a fanatic.....
Apart from yours Mikey, there do not seem to be many cars for sale that have been to a specialist and had everything sorted, maybe these owners keep them because they drive so much better?
You can easily find enough faults to total a bill of £2k even at a specialist and no dealer will say "OK £2k off then" as that'll be most of their profit gone, they'll just wait for someone less well informed to buy it on 'face value' - even an AA inspection wont touch the diagnostic side of things, apparently there were too many people complaining that some fault that had surfaced after inspection was the AA's fault so they knocked that on the head.

So did you buy it then?
Makes the one I saw last week sound good.
So what's the reg so others can avoid it?
so it needs 2 EGTs - always thought the RS4 had one, S4 had two
I bet it didn't go well with a duff EGT.

There are 2 EGT sensors as the temps need to be measured for each bank.neckarsulm wrote:So did you buy it then?![]()

There's one in each exhaust manifold.

Yikes, think I'd be inclined to give that a body swerve, there must be better examples than that going around.
