Nice :-)

Don't suppose you have a pic of these on an RS4 WITH the front end etc all back on and tidied up do you?

I prefer the completely 'stock' look is why I'm asking - I dont mind foregoing the foglamps (as I've never ever used them anyway) but I do want to retain front grilles - I'd just like to see how you've done it, so to speak.

If that's possible of course - cheers

please, can you tell me if there is absolut need to remap the car after installing your IC
i have MTM 460 remap (stock turbo, milltek 200 cat) and i wonder if i can mount these IC without remaping the car: will i get same power with less "stress" for turbos?
Less pressure drop, less work for turbo to obtain the same intake P?

No, you don't need to remap it.

I think if you want to get the best out of the aftermarket intercoolers you NEED to re-map.

Fact is that - besides lesser pressure drop - the intake temperature is way lower than with OEM intercoolers as we all can see on the graphs (btw .. this is not only due to bigger/better intercoolers ... the airducts are bigger as well ...) .This enables the 'map-guys' to enhance the mapping by means of enhacing ignition (lower temperatures means lesser change of detonation).

I swapped an OEM frontmount intercooler on my ex-EVO VI with a bigger one (more volume/lesser pressure drop, and a remap had to be done to use the advantages in full. Offcourse you'll be fine without a remap but you won't get the max. out of your car and that's what we're all here for aren't we? .....

You don't need a remap to increase ignition timing on Audis, it can be done with vag-com (but you need to make sure your car can run increased timing in the first place)

hi

thank you for the answears...

lower intake temp and less pressure drop means less stress for the K04... and that is enough for me.

but i've noticed that the lower is the outside temp, the lower is my boost pressure (higher air density means more power)

then, if i get Wagners without remaping, the boost pressure will be lower too (to compensate the intake temp) or not?

if not, that mean more power (same boost with higher density)

How do you do this on vag-com
You need the engine login code from your tuner.

If you don't have this, then it's a non-starter.

It's also helpful if your tuner has increased the retardation range, as the std map will only <beep> a certain amoutn if it detects a bad batch of fuel / problem etc...
