I’d be keen, I’m in North Staffs so a bit of a jaunt to get up there but have wanted to do it for a while myself!
That's great!...I will have a look at timings and the route etc. Will let you know as soon as a plan comes together.

Re: RS6 - North 500 Coast Rally

I've done the west side only - up to Durness and back down. Once you get far north a lot of the roads look like this: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@58.2552163,-4.755047,3a,83y,291.8h,68.23t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1so9CqlfDHUR6MbMoW5ZVNlQ!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo0.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3Do9CqlfDHUR6MbMoW5ZVNl...

I’ve previously been told go east to west, that way the landscape gets better as you go round.
Thanks for the tip........Will have a look and try plotting a route.

RS6 - North 500 Coast Rally

Hey. So I have always wanted to do a drive around Scotland and heard of the ‘North Coast 500’. Early days yet but would anyone be up for an RS6 Rally along the North 500 route? It could be over 2 to 3 days? It maybe something that could be planned for August next year depending on the situation rega...

Re: Beware when getting tyres fitted - Damage to alloys

I change tires from summer to winter every year, have no issues, but you need to know to which dealer you should go I do this too, but have a spare set of winter wheels and tyres, so it's just a matter of swapping wheels over. In the long run I reckon it's cheaper to do this, the spare wheels are a...

Never had any problems fitting new tires-rims at Audi dealers, some Audi dealers are even unable to fit tires on 21 inch because they don’t have tools
Yeah, Audi is probably the last place I would go to...They have limited stock and are pretty pricey.

Re: Beware when getting tyres fitted - Damage to alloys

More common than you think. I always clean my alloys the morning of the tyre change (so the fitter knows they are immaculate) and as above, remind the shop manager that they are mint and you want to keep them that way. Before photos are a must these days also. Yeah, I have seem posts online about s...

Re: Beware when getting tyres fitted - Damage to alloys

A point to be aware of if the fitters use a air gun to remove and install the locking nut it will wear the profile and eventually you will be unable to remove the locking nut i speak from experience So now i insist they brake and remove the locking nut with a beaker bar and not the air gun But i no...

Re: Beware when getting tyres fitted - Damage to alloys

OMG, so sorry to see. I use "Just Tyres" in Bedford. Not only do they Torque them on the day then the manager Steve will say come in over the next couple of days and we'll recheck it. I always give them a tip if they do a good job as the small independents remember you. Hope you can get your issue ...

Re: Beware when getting tyres fitted - Damage to alloys

National Tyres do torque the bolts after any work so could be that. To be honest, they’re the only firm I’ve ever used to actually do this and was impressed when I saw them do it. Most just use impact gun and that’s it. Doesn’t help your problem though I’m afraid..... Good to know, thanks!....I am ...

Yeah makes sense. Normally I am outside with them, but on this occasion I was too busy with work so left him to it. I will take your advice and use a small independent company.

Beware when getting tyres fitted - Damage to alloys

Hi All! When getting your tyres changed, please make sure you photograph each wheel before they are started! I just had 3 alloys damaged by a fitter who has denied causing the damage and pretty much blamed me. The marks are located at the same distance from the rim. It almost looks like the damage w...
