Re: What’s my interior worth please?

Wow how much does it cost to ship an interior to America, would have been cheaper to reupholster their originals!

Re: Can someone explain stall speed to me please

Why don’t you contact them and ask for their opinion? If not I’m sure your competent mapper or MRC will be able to advise

Re: Can someone explain stall speed to me please

Google is your friend: In general, the desired stall speed should be 500-700 RPM below the engine RPM at peak torque. This ensures a margin for application for the torque converter to take off. You don’t want to have to floor your gas pedal and wait a few seconds for your vehicle to move. Think of i...

Re: Can someone explain stall speed to me please

It’s how fast the engine can spin with the transmission in gear but with the car stationary, simplified to the extreme.

Re: Maf sensors

Yeah. Give me stock over that any day. In fact, IMVHO the intake tract isn't the limiting factor on our cars at all. The good upgrades are well documented and this isn't one of them. Isn’t there a video somewhere of an OE air box collapsing in from the vacuum on a dyno run? I’d be interested to see...

Re: Maf sensors

I would imagine a great deal of the design is owed to asthetics as back in 2003 a big carbon fibre slab on top of the engine was still quite premium.

Downpipe replacement DIY

Just been quoted £600 labour alone + vat by MRC to have a pair of decat downpipes replaced, was also advised additional costs if any of the studs break. I know it’s doable with the engine in and I’m a mechanic by trade, albeit of the HGV variety, but have little patience with messing around ...

Re: MRC trip.

I last paid £60 at AmD Tuning for a four laser and camber setup using their touring car gauges and equipment. Can’t get much better than that.

Was a fair few years ago mind and on a Clio not an RS6

Re: H and R coil overs - worn out?

I went through a set of Bilstein coilovers on a light Clio 172 in two years and less than 10k. I sent them off for a service and was amazed when they said a full rebuild was needed.

With that in mind the above could well be true. What symptoms are you suffering from?
