Re: Oil?
No, I think the recommended oil for the C8 is 40, just as it is for my new motor. I’m wondering why the lower viscosity oils are now the default, seems strange to me. I don’t think using a higher viscosity would harm but there must be a reason why these twin turbo V8s are now running on 40 wine.

Re: On the hunt
My C7PE went to an auction house recently via WEBAC, I know that it’s now for sale at s main dealer. It’s a very clean car, had it detailed and ceramic coated from new, covered 27k with no faults. It’s daytona with a pan roof and DRC, no badges and running on Michelin’s that only had about 4K on the...

Re: Oil?
I’m a bit confused about engine oil now, my old C7 was 0W 30 and I’ve got a few litres of the stuff in the garage. I’ve changed to an S63 coupe and note that the recommended oil is OW 40 as with the C8. I’d have thought the higher viscosity oil would be better for performance engines. Not sure it wi...

Re: RS6 Insurance...
Im paying £450 for my C7PE, full NCD and an SP30, according to that site I am in postcode band B, so is the new C8 so much more expensive to insure?

Re: Had the car ceramic coated
I had mine coated from new and it was worth the money, when washed it looks like new. I would recommend Gyeon wet wash followed up with wet look, it really helps to keep the finish looking good with great beading. Easy and inexpensive.

Re: Production Halted...
Back in November. I suspect you are in for an long wait, I’d guess at October. Have you been given a build week? Thanks, Nope, nothing, nada. I'm fairly relaxed about when it comes, as long as it's this year. There are rumours that VAT may be reduced later in the year, which on a £100K+ car makes a...

Re: £100k Budget Decision
Thanks, looking forward to hearing more about the car. I met Gary a few years ago and he's a good bloke, Alpina is a very small community and I think the customer service reflects that. I think the B5 (as the C8) is probably too big for my needs now but the B3 appeals, I like the balance between com...

Re: £100k Budget Decision
Be interested to know your impressions Scotty and whether you got a deal. I've been thinking about an Alpina for some time now, almost tempted to go for the B3 Touring or look for a low mileage D3 and have a fun car alongside.

Re: Am I mad or is this my mid life crisis
Guys The C8 is no bigger than a C7....just looks it. There’s mm in it. Still a big car of course, but rides and is so much more nimble than a C7. Chris I'm sure you're right Chris and I'm equally sure it handles better, but it is a big car and I am just beginning to feel that the size is beyond my ...

Re: Am I mad or is this my mid life crisis
I know, I've had 7 of the bloody things previously!! However, you can't get all the associated crap teenage daughters have to cart around at Uni and nor can you get Mrs Foxy's golf trolley in one. You're right about prices I think, but stock may be a problem as I know that dealers are not buying muc...

Re: Am I mad or is this my mid life crisis
My thoughts would be, if the 991T is that good, as I'm sure it is, then when would you take the 340i out, other than when you were taking the garden rubbish to the landfill, and were in a hurry.... :boots: similar dilemma though I need the space so the 991T isn't an option sadly.... Sorry, I maybe ...

Re: Am I mad or is this my mid life crisis
Partly because I am bored at the moment and partly because I and not sure whether I want the C8, I am weighing up a late 991T Manual alongside a new 340i Touring. I have really enjoyed my C7 but miss the nimbleness of the RS4 and fear the C8 is just too big for the lanes of Devon. I also miss not ha...

Re: Tyre Advice
My last first were Dunlops on my PE and I have to say I thought the grip was pretty good, they also lasted extremely well. I went for Michelins when the time came to change and don't regret it, they are noticeably better and worth the extra. I would talk to a tyre specialist if you are going to mix,...
