Insurance question

Post by joesnow » Sun Oct 14, 2012 1:21 pm

So the deposit has been put down on a B7 RS4 and now have to look at insurance.

I currently have a policy with axa on my passat which has 9 years no claims and expires on the 30th of November. They have said I have 2 options

1) Take out a 2nd policy with them. They will warrant my no claims on a second policy and also give 10% discount.

2) Take out a temporary policy with them that runs alongside my current policy that can last upto 30 days.

The 2nd policy idea is appealing as the price is good but then I'm tied to Ada for another year. If I took out the temporary policy I could then Shop around and find a policy that insures both vehicles.

What do you guys do that have 2 vehicles to insure??

Cheers Joe

Full mirrored no claims is not to be sniffed at.
Not all insurers will offer any mirroring and those that do will generally reduce the no claims.
Its all BS but thats how it is.

I guess it all depends on the price - if it's reasonable then go for the second policy.

Try plugging the info into moneysupermarket.
I insured the RS3 with no no claims last year for < £600.
I do have full no claims on my daily driver. So I assume they take that into account.
