Re: Lower door blade
You undo the screws and it slides back away from the front of the door.
Unfortunately the reason it is coming away from the door is corrosion inside the trim which is not repairable.
There is no double sided tape, it clips onto studs welded onto the door skin.
Although the trim is plastic it has a metal strip through the middle which rusts and blows the plastic apart giving the appearance that it has come away from the door.
Had both my fronts done last year, about £65 each plus paint and not covered after 2 years by Audi but my local dealer made a contribution for goodwill.
Cheers

Re: Lower door blade
If they are anything like an old A4 I had there is only 2 screws. One at hinge side of the door and the other you see in your photo.
Remove the screws and pull the trim back it should move back about 10mm and then lift off. There is a row of white plastic clips fitted to the bottom of the door that lock into the groves in the moulding.

Re: Lower door blade
ok, just pulled my passenger/front off, easy, 2 screws, slide rearward
a lot of dirt behind it, cleaned it all up with a brush, waxed the door
exactly as described, the blade mounting plate is delaminating at the top edge for about 12" from the rear of the door
I cleaned up the gap, dried with a heat gun, and squirted 2 part epoxy into it, then clamped the edge/lip with two 12" strips of wood/c-clamp, dries as we speak
make sure you have some adhesive remover/solvent on hand, when clamped it oozes out
it's the only door doing it so far, but I'll remove/clean all of them
I'll let you know how it turns out
edit: pulled the drivers side to clean it, started to delaminate ~6", not noticable yet, so did the same: cleaned, glued, clamped

Re: Lower door blade
turned out perfect, perfectly flush and even gap
took less than 1 hour both sides (n/i drying time)
make sure you get ALL grit from behnd the plate, make sure it it dry and degreased, use a good epoxy, and clamp evenly with wood strips
we'll see how it holds up

Re: Lower door blade
Just in case anyone else need in future (being old Elsawin links don't work no more), lower moulding on driver's door is Part No: 8E0-853-960-7DL .
My original was coming apart and Audi dealer charged £220 to supply a painted replacement.
In this case replacing it genuinely was a 5 min job (well add 3 mins to wipe off residual crud left behind old one), with just the two screws to remove, slide to the left and it falls off.
