Alpine/Kufatec option is amongst the best out there.

The best option is to swap your standard RNS-E to a 2010+ RNS-E, and swap the glovebox CD changer to AMI (with iPod lead) - if a good iPod connection is your priority.

I've got the Gateway and is the cheapest way of doing. It's perfectly fine for what I want. I did lose the cd multichanger but as I've got everything on iPod it wasnt a problem. I've read it's much better than oem as well.

Find a 2010+ A3 or TT RNS-E as a donor; swap the faceplate between that and your existing RNS-E to create an A4 2010+ RNS-E; then sell the now A3 or TT pre-2010 RNS-E. The hardest part of the swap is that the screws are small and can be very tight so you must use the correct size screwdriver to avoid damaging the heads.

It's a direct plug'n'play to do the swap, just read the coding from you current RNS-E and code the new one exactly the same - until you swap the CD changer to the AMI when you change the last 2 digits of the coding, see http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.ph ... 28RNS-E%29
(the AMI is coded as "digital radio").
The only thing you lose on the 2010+ RNS-E is the RS4 startup screen as it doesn't have it.
