So am coming to end of holiday in N. Wales (betws-y-coed) and the EPC light has just come on and it's gone into limp mode.
First time I've had any issues and what impeccable timing being I'm 200 miles from home and it's a bank holiday weekend so nowhere is going to be open until Tuesday. Don't suppose anyone with Vagcom is anywhere around here? Meant to be back at work on Tuesday but can't see that happening at moment.
Haven't even got mobile signal/wifi where I'm staying so have had to send this from family friend's gaff.
Well the Welsh driving was good fun until now anyway.

Re: Snowdonia VCDS?
I have latest VCDS if you are desparate but I'm just north of Chester (not far from Unit 21) approx. 1.5 hours away tho.
Re: Snowdonia VCDS?
Cheers Respect4.
It's gone out of limp mode this morning (though the EPC light is still glaring at me indigently), so think I'm going to risk driving back to London (if a little more restrained than normal) and getting things sorted out there.
Does anyone know if there is some kind of pattern or indicator of it going in out of limp mode, or is it completely unpredictable from the driver's point of view? Am somewhat unnerved with it potentially cutting power just as I'm pulling out of junctions and such.

Re: Snowdonia VCDS?
just guessing, it could be a bad coil pack if not already replaced?
other thing with these cars is alot of the trickery on the engine works off vacuum, so maybe have a feel around for small diamter hose if any have come off.
and other thing, again my not be it, is what fuel have you put in.
I do beleive there is a difference between cheap fuels and shell v-power for our cars.
maybe you picked up some 'stale' fuel in n.wales
?? Find a shell and brim it with the good stuff!
worth a try, hopefully get you home.

Re: Snowdonia VCDS?
So have nursed it back home, keeping below 4k revs all way, proabably got the best fuel economy I've ever had.
The EPC light obviously felt lonely, as at it is now joined by the ESP (skidding car icon) warning light being permanently on. Not looking forward to the sucking through teeth noises from the stealers when I get to find out what this is going to cost me.

Re: Snowdonia VCDS?
Bought myself VCDS and have run a scan. Came back with 3 faults...
Fault 1: Could be vacuum leak with potentially all sorts of sources. Could be fun to locate and hence possibly expensive.
Fault 2: Broken brake switch most likely. Meant to be cheap to fix.
Fault 3: Mismatch between ECUs in storing fault, hopefully spurious. So reset and wait and see.
Anyway am just about to check it in with Audi this morning, so will be interesting to see if they come to similar conclusions.
So having a quick search, my uneducated guesses are:3 Faults Found:
