Autocar states this week that the new S4 due in 2014/2015 will be a 2.0 turbo

I disagree (partly!)

They were spot on with B8 rs4 when some were saying uprated S/c V6 or new TT V8

That's going to need a big turbo and hence turbo lag and hence not my cup of tea. I really don't miss my 2.0T, I much prefer the linear supercharged V6.

And where does it produce that power, can't see it being a linear delivery.

Agreed but that is a different class car eg A3 and therefore in my view (probably wrong!) more acceptable!

im sure the S4 wont be a 4pot

maybe a 5pot, or V6 with cylinder de-activation
